Rezension von rita⭐️ 3.5 stars. Honestly, I’m left with mixed feelings. In a good, complicated way. It was emotional, frustrating at times, but also really thoughtful. The story touches on heavy, very real topics, especially around family trauma, self worth, and what it means to try to build a life for yourself after being shaped by people who shouldn’t have had that kind of power. Ivy was a character I saw myself in more than I expected. She’s human, flawed, reactive, and she struggles with accepting that she’s allowed to make mistakes. She doesn’t have to be perfect or constantly prove something to deserve love. And that part felt very real. Some of her choices frustrated me, but I also understood exactly why she made them. The romance was genuinely good. Aiden was patient with her in a way that felt believable, and there were a few scenes, especially the love confession, that were honestly beautiful. They’re not a perfect couple, but they’re trying, and that felt relatable too. The hardest part of the book for me was the family storyline. Not in a bad way. It just hit too close. The book really leans into the idea that not everyone is meant to be a parent, and that the wounds you grow up with follow you longer than you want them to. It made me think a lot, more than I expected from a romance. Overall, it was good. Emotional. Frustrating. Honest. And even though I didn’t love everything, I definitely want to keep going with the series.
