I kinda starts off like any other romance novel knocking about....hot ex-military hunk meets a pretty girl BUT thats pretty much where the similiaries between this book and other romance novel end. Both characters come with a huge amount of baggage which they are muddling through in the course of the book. I love the writing style and I had some real "laugh out loud" moments with this book which earned me a raised eyebrow from my kids. I can relate especially to Jack and his veteran mates as an army wife who had to deal with a husband with PTSD. I read it in less than a day which is a tall order when you got a few little ones running around but I simply couldn't put it down. I had to know if there was a happily ever after for Rose and Jack. Oh god it was so worth letting the housework slide for 24 hours. My favourite book of 2018 so far.
