Rezension von simply_yThis was straight up an epic read. I mean, I get that some people think Memnon is pure red flag material - but he makes this whole story interesting?! The banter, the tension, omg it had me in it's grip and I was giggling! Memnon's behaviour is just chef's kiss alpha male. Looking forward to part 2 💖
Rezension von PiaEs gibt Bookstagrammar, die ein sicheres Händchen dafür haben toxische Romantasy zu empfehlen... Die Geschichte, die erfundene Welt, die Prämisse, alles toll, toll, toll! Eine Hexe die immer mehr von ihren Erinnerungen verliert wenn sie Magie verwendet? Tell me more! Und dann, ja dann kommt die Lovestory und erst ist sie düster und morally grey, ja ok, ist ja auch spannend zu lesen. Aber können wir endlich aufhören „Liebe“ die auf den Bedingungen eines einzelnen Charakters basiert zu romantisieren? Er hält dich fest, obwohl du es nicht willst? Er verbrennt deine Journals, damit du maximal von ihm abhängig bist, weil du dich an nix erinnerst? Er führt die Polizei auf deine Fährte, damit dich alle für eine Mörderin halten? Girl, das ist keine Liebe, das ist toxischer schei*dreck. Bis zum Schluss bleibt die Hoffnung, dass sie sich von ihm abwendet und das Ende bleibt offen. Vermutlich wird es nicht so kommen, ich werde es nicht herausfinden, da ich diese Reihe offensichtlich nicht fortsetzen werde. P.S. Es gibt auch wirklich tolle Bücher in diesem Genre, auch mit morally grey Charakteren, die ohne diesen Mist auskommen…
