Rezension von Janelle EdwardsWow! This is a great read! I was hooked from the very beginning and kept me staying up way past my bedtime to finish. This author, Alice Henderson has done an amazing job on her first book in this new series. This is the first book in a new series about q wildlife biologist called Alex Carter. In this first book, Alex begins in Boston at a wetlands preserve where she will be speaking when a shooter interrupts the event. Soon after, she quickly moves to Montana after accepting her next job studying wolverines at a nature preserve. Arriving in town, she is not welcome by many of the locals, but she gets to work setting up trap cameras and walking throughout the remote wilderness to track and follow the wolverines. After discovering a man on one of her trap cameras, she calls police but is quickly dismissed. Later she encounters the same man while walking one day and rushes for help but when they return he is nowhere to be seen. After crews search for a few days and the man is not located, the sheriff scales back the efforts. Throught the entire novel, Alex has other encounters that require her knowledge of wildflie and her survival skills to stay alive. This was a fast paced thriller with a strong female lead that is not only well written but also offers a lesson on wolverines and studying animals. If you are looking for a quick read to get lost in, I highly recommend this book and look forward to reading the next book in the series.
