Rezension von HelenAHHH I’M SCREAMING. You can so tell James grew up with Kenji — like, the sarcasm? The sass? The chaotic energy? I was CACKLING through half the book. But James, my sweet delulu boy, you’re literally Aaron 2.0. Unhinged and DELUSIONAL. Although I’m not gonna lie, sometimes he was lowkey annoying. He wants to be taken seriously and treated like an adult… but then makes every single decision that screams “I’m still 12, thanks.” And babe, how many times are you going to defend Rosabelle’s mess? BE SERIOUS. We get it, you like her, but enough with the “she’s just misunderstood” speeches. Also, if I had a dollar for every time he mentioned how tiny and beautiful she is, I could buy a new personality for her. Yes, she looks like a porcelain doll — I HEARD YOU THE FIRST TEN TIMES. The pacing threw me off a bit too. It started off with chaos and before I could even settle in, James was off the island again. And then BOOM, more time jumps. I could’ve done with a few more chapters to slow things down and really dive into the scenes. BUT OMG OUR OG FAM IS BACK. Aaron, baby, you are and will forever be my fictional husband. And Kenji?? If Nazeera’s not claiming you, I will. I VOLUNTEER. I’m free on weekends. And weekdays. Anytime, really. Overall, it was a fun, fast-paced intro to the new arc. It was short and super bingeable, and I definitely had a good time — but I really hope the next books give us more: more depth, more chaos, more everything. As a series opener, it worked. But let’s be honest, I’d read a Tahereh grocery list if Aaron Warner was in it. The plot in Shatter Me was a mess half the time, but her books are addictive and I don’t even care. I’ll take another hit, thanks. Anyway, see y’all in a year when the next one drops — and fingers crossed it’s longer!
Rezension von ViviJames is the perfect combination of Warner and Kenji! What could be better than my favorite characters combined?! How long do we have to wait for the next book after this awful Cliffhanger, Tahereh Mafi?
