After reading a few reviews, I just felt the need to leave a short comment too. As far as I'm concerned Lauren Oliver didn't disappoint me. "Vanishing Girls" is an amazing-written story about the connection between two sisters. Maybe it is because I have a twin sister and somehow Nick reminded me of myself and Dara of her, but I could not stop reading their story. I felt a huge connection to Nick and I could in almost every way identify myself with her. It was like the story really became alive, what is for me an important aspect. A lot of people critizise that the turn at the end wasn't convincing because their relationship consisted of "hating" on each other. I've read it in a different way to be honest. For me that is exactly how a connection between siblings works. Sometimes I hate my sister for what she is doing to me and I feel the exact way Nick feels, but at the end of the day the truth it: The death of my sister would completely ruin me, because I love her like I love nobody else. That is the reason why I love this novel so much and I feel like I will always hold it close to my heart.
