Unfortunately, this one wasn't for me. While I found the first half quite boring, I also couldn't find a connection to the main character or other characters. It basically did not matter to me who won and who lost.

The characters in itself were not very well fleshed out, and close relationships were not built up slowly, they just... happened. Like, one day A and B are strangers, and the next they would die for each other, or call each other brother and sister, or father and daugter. Very weird, that was a bit too fast for me.

The last point I would like to mention is the love story. It's okay that I did not feel any chemistry, since not all love stories are for everyone. BUT! Isn't it weird that a man falls in love with a woman eight years younger than him, a woman which he watched growing up since she was ten (so he was 18)? Idk, but that was a bit too much for me.

The story was okay, but not the most exciting one. I really had a problem with the romance subplot as he watched her grow up from 10 to 18 while being 8 years older.
