Reviewed by PaulaZu „The Luminaries“ habe ich ganz spontan gegriffen, als ich nach einer Geschichte für den Herbst gesucht habe. Und als die einleitenden Sätze schilderten, dass es in dem Ort, in dem das Buch inhaltlich spielt, unabhängig von der Jahreszeit irgendwie immer etwas grau, regnerisch und kühl zu sein scheint, wusste ich direkt, dass das ein richtig gutes erstes Herbstbuch für dieses Jahr sein würde. Denn es stimmte, ich hatte wirklich sehr viel Spaß beim Lesen! Das Setting war einzigartig, ebenso wie die Idee der Geschichte: Eine Gemeinschaft von Menschen, die sortiert nach Wochentagen lebt, ist umgeben von einem magischen Wald, in dem jede Nacht aufs Neue Monster zum Leben erwachen - und mitten in diesem Chaos treffen ein seltsames Mysterium und ein Hauch von Romance aufeinander. Ich hatte viel Spaß beim Lesen, und obwohl die Handlung nicht mit allzu vielen Höhen und Tiefen einherging, mochte ich die Geschichte sehr und habe sie vor allem aufgrund der Herbst-Vibes verschlungen. Einzig und allein die Tatsache, dass mich eine Review auf Goodreads gespoilert und mir somit einiges von der Geschichte vorweg genommen hat, hat mein Leseerlebnis ärgerlicherweise ziemlich geschmälert, das war so schade! Aber wenn ihr etwas Unterhaltsames mit herbstlicher Atmosphäre, naiven Teenagern, coolen Monstern und schlicht gehaltenem Worldbuilding sucht, könnte das definitiv etwas für euch sein!
