Frodo must leave his home and make a perilous journey across Middle-earth to the Cracks of Doom, there to destroy the Ring and foil the Dark Lord in his evil purpose.Part of a set of three paperbacks, this popular edition is once again available in its classic black livery designed by Tolkien himself.

I’ve loved this story for years and knew all along that I had to read it at some point. I am glad that I did! The first part drags on forever, it’s a whole lot of walking and more walking and some singing in between. Once you get past that it gets better and easier to read. It’s still quite a bit different to more modern literature simply because Tolkien wrote this masterpiece a long time ago. All that being said I loved it, maybe partly because I watched the movies many times before and loved them. But who knows. I will say though that my copy of this book is missing passages. One I caught, I don’t know how many more are possibly not included.
