The Foxhole Court (All for the Game)
von Nora Sakavic
Neil Josten is the newest addition to the Palmetto State University Exy team. He's short, he's fast, he's got a ton of potential — and he's the runaway son of the murderous crime lord known as The Butcher. Signing a contract with the PSU Foxes is the last thing a guy like Neil should do. The team is high profile and he doesn't need sports crews broadcasting pictures of his face around the nation. His lies will hold up only so long under this kind of scrutiny and the truth will get him killed. But Neil's not the only one with secrets on the team. One of Neil's new teammates is a friend from his old life, and Neil can't walk away from him a second time. Neil has survived the last eight years by running. Maybe he's finally found someone and something worth fighting for.

I love it! I want to know how this continues right now. The story is so interesting to me. I love seing Neil go off on someone because he knows exactly where to hit to make it hurt. Andrew reminds me a lot of Aiden from Schoolbus Graveyard. I'm sure atleast one of the books in this series is gonna get 5 Stars from me i'm obsessed.
This book definitely has some flaws and I recommend looking up trigger warnings before reading. For example the r slur is used three times I think it was? Which could’ve and should’ve been completely avoided. There was also a scene where the mc gets sexually assaulted (non consensual kiss) and it’s not addressed as such at all. The writing is not amazing or showstopping but it’s good and has its moments. However, looking past that I really enjoyed this book and personally did not get bored once! I had no idea what I was getting myself into but I loved the darker plots. I’m not sure I 100% understand the Exy sport but that’s not too important and the core of it is easy to grasp imo. Neil is such an amazing and lovable main character, I need to put him in my pocket and protect him against every evil in his life cause WOW. I love his relationships with the other characters too, they’re so entertaining and the different dynamics are really interesting. Also GAY wow I would turn homophobic if I had to deal with THEM all the time. And the characters are messed up, yes! They’re supposed to be!! A sports team of morally grey characters. I love them.
Reread alert!! Because yes, The Foxhole Court is the first book in my all-time favorite series and it was once again time to forget about literally everything else in my life and descend back into this beautifully unhinged hellscape.🧡🖤 To anyone thinking about starting this series: consider this your official warning. You will not return. This series will ruin your brain chemistry in the most deliciously chaotic way and you will thank it. But also cry. A lot. Let me be clear: this is NOT for everyone. If you’re not slightly unhinged and into extremely messed up characters, violent trauma bonding, and the most morally gray cast of your life… get out now. But if you are into all that??? Congrats. You’ve found your new personality. I’m not kidding when I say this series has fully taken over my existence. I own merch. I own a fucking doormat with Neil and Andrew on it! I cosplay a character from this series for Halloween. I have t-shirts. And yes, I’ve considered tattooing “Exy is everything” across my forehead. So it‘s THIS kind of obsession. The Foxhole Court as a book? Is it perfectly written? Absolutely not. Do I care? Absolutely not. Because the vibes are EVERYTHING. The trauma? Next level. The obsession? Eternal. 1000000/10 Best series on this godforsaken planet. I even bought all the audiobooks and listen to them every night to fall asleep.
