Childhood trauma, abuse and issues relating to sexual abuse have always been something I had a lot to do with in my lifetime, I am a supporter and avid contributor to organisations who promote healing from all of the above. I based my character of Emma on a survivor, a strong female lead,  and the Carrero series really showcases strong women who have overcome a messy childhood by using various coping mechanisms while still on that journey to healing.
