Rezension von LucyGold rush in the Klondike. Dangerous times, rough country, cruel rules of life. A pampered St Bernard named Beck lives in California until one day his life changes completely. He is kidnapped by dog dealers and sold to Canada, where the demand for robust, hardy dogs is high. Beck sees snow for the first time and learns for the first time the law of survival in this strange, wild world. ... but what is it about the call of the wild that he hears more and more often? As I love the works of Jack London, I was pretty sure that I would also enjoy this book. & it didn't disappoint! A very profound story about a dog who develops ancient instincts. 4,5/5
Rezension von dajameep„Ruf der Wildnis“ ist eine zusammengefasste und verständlicher geschriebene Version von „Wolfsblut“, geeignet dafür, dass auch Kinder bereits dieses Buch kennenlernen und wertschätzen können. Es gibt viele Inhalte, die anhand von Gegebenheiten und Situationen erklärt werden, die jungen Lesenden einfach besser bekannt sind und so auch verständlicher sein können, als sie es bei dem Lesen von „Wolfsblut“ wären. Ich bin allerding der Meinung, dass dadurch an wenigen Stellen bestimme Informationen fehlen, die das Geschehen besser erklären würden beziehungsweise auch die Vorgehensweise in Hinblick auf bestimmte Verhaltensweisen und Gefühle verständlicher machen würden.
