Hola.

I feel like I am supposed to say something about this book, because SO MANY FEELINGS. But before I start I will put the trigger warnings this book contains in this review, because they can't be find in the book and I didn't specifically look for them. So I started to read this book, thinking I'll get some cute romance and friendship book and ended up havinge some really dark thoughts. Please read them and think about if you can handle all of this, before you buy the book and start reading.

"Hello. I hope somebody is listening..." <img src="https://i.pinimg.com/736x/28/7d/43/287d43399fcd02d036e4b3e018465cd7.jpg"description"/> This book makes me feel. I lost count of how many times I related to any of these sweet characters. I love them all. Reading this book was like Alice kept saying what I wanted to say but never would or could for some reason. Am I making any sense? Probably not. "I couldn't quite believe how much I seriously loved Aled Last, even if it wasn't in the ideal way that would make it socially acceptable for us to live together until we die." I guess one of the reasons I liked it so much is because the power of true friendship was greater than the romantic relationship. This is so rare in books or even movies or TV shows and I crave it! I think I just have enough of that bullshit. You don't have to be romantically involve with someone to truly care about them. Or if a boy and girl hang out with each other a lot and love each other, it doesn't mean that they're gonna fall for one another at the end. "I stopped speaking. There was no point trying to argue. There was no way she was going to even attempt to listen to me. They never do, do they? They never even try to listen to you." The entire book was full of quiet and desperate pleadings for someone to just listen. I guess those were most of the times I've related to it. I knew the feeling. I lived it. Being a teenager and no one for once just stop and listen to what you want instead of shoving their thoughts into your head. "I think everyone's a bit bored with boy-girl romance any way. I think the world's had enough of those, to be honest." God, the lgbtq+ representations! This book has 4 main characters and non of them are straight. I dig that, friends. :) "On the first of November, I turned eighteen. I expected to feel different but, of course, I didn't. I don't think age has much to do with adulthood." When I was a kid, I used to think when I turn to eighteen or nineteen I'd be so old and all, now I'm twenty two and honestly, I don't even feel like it. Somedays I feel like it's been over eighty years since I'm living in this planet; somedays I just feel like a fragile little child. Anyway, I guess what I'm trying to say here, is that I loved this book! Go read it if you haven't already! 4.5 stars!

GabrieleRezension von Gabriele

Is the book abridged? No, it is not. Then the author probably published or had to publish the book a bit too quickly (sometimes you're stuck in such a gag contract). Good thoughts, good ideas, but somehow the whole plot doesn't seem to be properly fleshed out and the main characters are unfortunately not fully fleshed out. Too bad, it definitely has potential. What I liked is how Aysha Kala reads the audiobook. Pleasantly unagitated, the voice is not childish, but still I did not have the feeling that an adult woman is speaking. Even those actually ridiculous passages where the voice is pitched/alienated weren't quite as silly because of Aysha Kala's good voice. Maybe I'd be interested in the podcast story as a seperat book. However, I would have found it too much to tell it in this book in addition to the main story.
