Rezension von Lischaa1Nightshade war für mich ein absolutes Lese-Highlight, das mich direkt in seinen Bann gezogen hat. Die Autorin schafft es meisterhaft, von der ersten Seite an eine unglaublich spannende Atmosphäre aufzubauen, die bis zur letzten Zeile anhält. Die Mischung aus dem düsteren Setting der Sorrowsong University, dem Rachefeldzug der Protagonistin Ophelia und den geheimnisvollen Bedrohungen sorgt für einen permanenten Nervenkitzel, der das Buch unmöglich aus der Hand legen lässt. Ich habe den männlichen Protagonisten Alex wirklich total geliebt. Er ist komplex, fesselnd und seine Entwicklung im Laufe der Geschichte ist großartig. Die weibliche Protagonistin Ophelia ist wirklich sehr relatable – ihre Entschlossenheit und ihr innerer Kampf zwischen ihrer Mission und ihren Gefühlen machen sie zu einer authentischen Figur. Besonders hervorzuheben ist die Liebesbeziehung zwischen den beiden. Sie ist ein perfekter "Enemies to Lovers"-Trope mit einer tollen Tension und einem spürbaren Slow Burn. Man hat die Funken zwischen Alex und Ophelia quasi auf jeder Seite gespürt und fieberte intensiv mit, dass diese beiden endlich zusammenfinden und ihr Happy End bekommen. Neben der mitreißenden Hauptgeschichte glänzt das Buch auch durch seine tollen Nebencharaktere. Sie bringen nicht nur Tiefe in die Welt der Sorrowsong University, sondern sorgen mit ihren witzigen Dialogen und Eigenheiten auch für die nötigen Lacher, die das Leseerlebnis perfekt ausbalancieren. Der Cliffhanger hat mich wirklich traurig und sprachlos zurückgelassen! Er ist gemein, aber er zeigt, wie sehr mir die Charaktere und ihre Geschichte ans Herz gewachsen sind. Ich kann Buch 2 absolut kaum erwarten und muss wissen, wie es weitergeht! Fazit: Nightshade ist eine absolute Empfehlung von mir. Wer eine spannungsgeladene Geschichte mit Dark-Academia-Elementen, großartigen Charakteren und einer tollen Liebesgeschichte sucht, wird dieses Buch lieben.
