Rezension von JustineI was already caught off guard by the first book - I had expected a cozy little read, a window into the day to day life of a Japanese woman with her daily little struggles and not much else, but got schooled pretty quickly by the surprising amount of depth contained in less than 200 pages. It was the same with this book. I had picked it up because I remember liking the first one but didn’t have many expectations, I would have been content with a little “where are they now” story, but Yagisawa proved me wrong yet again. The book market right now is so oversatured with romance plots that rely on the often badly executed miscommunication trope, but he took it, tore it up, stepped on it, spat on it and slam dunked it into the trash. Seeing healthy communication between Takako and Wada, Momoko and Satoru in a book was so refreshing and reminded me that good romance in books can still be possible. Just like the first volume, this book feels like a hug and I was sad to have finished it. I hope that there will be a third book one day, I trust that the author could pull it off again.
