PERFECTION

3,5⭐️ im torn between liking the finale of the series and being kind of disappointed. i missed the family dynamic we had throughout the other books. like seb was basically all on his own because his siblings decided that their new life is worth more even tho they have gone through everything together prior. i was most disappointed in dante tbh. like i understand that he wanted a better life with simone and the children but telling seb that he won’t do anything after their father was literally killed and then just leaving made me so angry. nero also kind of didn’t support seb at all which felt so out of character for him. loved my girl aida being there for yelena and seb tho. like the whole relationships between the sibling felt so wrong. starting with seb. i was unsure about were his journey would go after the last books. he was floating without purpose and that made me sad for him. then he saw yelena for the first time and she gave him his drive back. while i loved that i also had the feeling that their love progressed a little fast. what i didn’t like about his character was that he was unwilling to see the consequences of loving yelena. like yeah i loved that he was ready to put all the grudges towards the bratva behind the family but he wasn’t suspicious enough that it all went down so smoothly in my eyes. in one way i liked his revenge arc that made him into the don of the family but i also kinda didn’t like that he gave up the family house so easily for instance. it felt like nothing really mattered to him anymore. i did like his character in the book even though it was nothing like i expected it to be. yelena i really liked and also didn’t? i thought she was a little immature for being 25. i also didn’t think she was as fierce and tough as described. in the beginning she did what her father told her to without really trying to tell seb what was going on. i also understand that she didn’t really have a choice and that she was just afraid. it got better towards the end of the book where she actually went on and tried to find her brother. the way she decided to safe nero instead of following her brother showed that she was putting her family behind for the first time. i also liked how she was just so in love with seb and that they were everything for each other but what i didn’t like is that she just accepted being thrown in the basement and then letting seb do whatever he wanted. like i understand that she wanted that too but for my personal liking she didn’t put up enough of a fight. what i do understand is her love for adrian tho, even with everything he did and how he hated her in the end. i guess i would’ve liked it better for them to find back to each other but you could see that adrian was favored by their father and saw the conflict with different eyes than yelena. the fate of enzo gallo actually caught me by surprise. yeah i thought that there was gonna be war between the families but the bratva just blowing his face off was shocking and really didn’t sit right with me. it’s what made the plot the plot in the end but i didn’t like enzo dying just like that. shoutout tho to my babes miko and nessa who never fail to lighten my mood <3
