I could give 6 ⭐️out of 5 just because this book not only made me feel so fucking much, but also make me C-R-Y. That’s right. And I cannot recall when was the last time that happened. It talked to me in such a deep way. You know when you see yourself at the very bottom, when everything is falling part, when you are falling apart, and you see yourself scratching your head over what to do next. I guess I hate the feeling of not being able to fix what I want fixed. Not only for me, which brings a whole lot of pressure. This story of how this intelligent, interesting, funny woman navigates her heartbreak one, heartbreak two, the feeling of seeing herself as inadequate or boring or not attractive and young enough (she is fucking 32!) made me laugh, cheer, made me empathetic with another girl we should - supposedly - hate, made me feel sad and betrayed. I mean, it delivers. Oh boy, Katherine delivers. It is not a spicy book, but it is a very much teasing one and just as good. Another side note would be that that’s the second story in a row in which there is a character with the same disease, that one that makes the person blind with time. I found it a coincidence and it was interesting to see how life develops differently after that diagnosis in different ages and stages in life, how everyone wants to see as much as possible of the world and of the ones they love, as if to memorize it all and cease the moments that are still lid by the light that will, one day, be dark forever. 100% recommended
