Iphy and Elly, the lissome Siamese twins . . . albino hunchback Oly, and the outwardly normal Chick, whose mysterious gifts make him the family’s most precious—and dangerous—asset. As the Binewskis take their act across the backwaters of the U.S., inspiring fanatical devotion and murderous revulsion; as its members conduct their own Machiavellian version of sibling rivalry, Geek Love throws its sulfurous light on our notions of the freakish and the normal, the beautiful and the ugly, the holy and the obscene. This is a very special book with the most memorable characters I've ever read about. A few more plot twists would've been great, but even without major twists this was a quite shocking and very emotional tale of love, beauty and the freakish. I enjoyed Geek Love a lot, although it sometimes is rather hard to read. But that never stopped me from turning the pages to learn more about Oly, the hunch-backed albino dwarf and her extraordinary family of narcissistic breeds.
