Die Geschichte selbst ist ganz gut, aber über den Schreibstil kann ich einfach nicht Hinwegsehen. Ich habe mich gelangweilt, es gab keine Motivation mehr es zu lesen, habe für weniger Seiten Monate gebraucht.

Double Crush boasts a beautifully designed cover with sprayed edges and a tailored playlist. It is the first book in the Doppelgänger Agency duology by Nina MacKay. The reader enters the world of stars, celebrities and doppelgängers. Ognito Inc. is an L.A.-based agency specialised in recruiting and training doppelgängers. Kolly, our protagonist, has recently been through an unpleasant lawsuit for hacking into a right-wing political party. Her sentence: minimum contact with computers and community service. Since she needs to take it slow, she volunteers to aid her mother in her agency. We are swept along as Kolly navigates between the obnoxious doubles of a famous boy band, with Lincoln leading the way, and her hours spent at a cattery as part of her community service. Drama, banter, hilarious incidents and adorable kittens are daily fare. The story is narrated from two different POVs, which provides the tale with much-needed depth. Centring a story around Hollywood and doppelgängers is rather unique. Add to it an IT-geek with an aversion to criminals, a vivacious young woman intending to save all the cats of L.A. and a mysterious young man who has plenty to hide, and you will have a recipe that leads to disaster. Despite the promising elements that underlie this story, I could not warm up to it. And to be completely honest, I could not even tell you what exactly made the story fall short for me. I suppose a mix of various aspects could be blamed for it. Some alleged mix-ups were too obvious for me, especially given the traits of the characters involved. Although I initially enjoyed Kolly’s nerdy quirks, like counting in binary whenever she is nervous, her eccentric curses (“by all the JavaScript programmers” - to give you one example) were a bit over the top for me.

Also man muss Drama mögen 😅 Ich fand es ist mal was anderes als die meisten Bücher dennoch fand ich es lustig und spannend zu lesen

tolle Geschichte mit einem tollen Setting. tolle Aspekte wie die Doubles. hat sich aber Stellenweise etwas gezogen.
