Rezension von Sitanan PranamornkitI didn't find it so funny as I have anticipated before reading the book. Or maybe it is because I’ve heard so many good things about the book, and my expectation was already set high. I even hoped that there would be things I could learn from the book, but sadly I found very few and left disappointed after reading. What I like about the book is how he depicted his family relationships - the struggling and rewarding feelings are so accurate and honest. My favourite quote in this book is about how people changing their opinions all the time. Some stories are weird and very silly. I still couldn’t believe that he agreed to be operated on by a stranger in the middle of the night, out of nowhere and actually kept his tumour in the freezer for years to feed the turtle...but who am I to judge. About the collection of the stories, they are very random, and I feel like they were picked out of nowhere, some bits and bobs from here and there during his life. It makes me feel like he can basically write anything he experienced and still be on the book and selling. Some stories are going nowhere and they aren’t even worth mentioning. I believe some of the stories can be pretty offensive to some people. Overall I wouldn’t recommend this book to anyone.
