I really liked the bond between the five main characters, and their dynamic is what kept me invested. But the sex scenes started to feel really repetitive after a while. I know it’s a romance, but it felt like every interaction immediately turned sexual, and it got frustrating. At some point I just wanted Elise to have meaningful conversations or moments with the guys that didn’t end in sex every two seconds. It also started to feel like the actual plot got pushed to the background. Elise is supposed to be trying to find her brother’s killer, but so much of the book is focused on hookups that it feels like nothing is really happening for long stretches. That said, I did really enjoy the relationship development between the guys themselves. Leon forcing everyone together so they’d finally deal with their issues was honestly one of the best parts of the book. And seeing Gabriel and Ryder slowly become friends was surprisingly wholesome and probably my favorite character progression.
