Brave New World
von Aldous Huxley
Far in the future, the World Controllers have created the ideal society. Through genetic engineering, brainwashing and recreational sex and drugs all its members are happy consumers. Bernard Marx seems alone in feeling discontent, harbouring an ill-defined longing to break free. A visit to one of the few remaining Savage Reservations, where the old, imperfect life still continues, may be the cure for his distress... Huxley's ingenious fantasy of the future sheds a blazing light on the present and is considered to be his most enduring masterpiece.

I may be stupid but this was an awful read. I understand the importance of the themes talked about in it but oh my GOD it read like someone had a half baked plot outline and really wanted to make it about Jesus. The ending was unsatisfactory at best and just annoying at worst. Maybe I don't understand it but this book was just painful once you get past the second chapter.
I read this for school, and I wish I hadn't
Mehr als 3 Sterne kann ich echt nicht vergeben, eher sogar 2,5. Ein ganz seltsames Buch.
kinda boring. great idea but not a great storyline
cannot recommend for non native speakers. i was like: imma read it in english, we read extracts in school... NO. Did not understand a thing and could not enjoy it at all. But I bet it is a goooood novel but my english is way too bad for this (and it is actually quite good)
