The 4th book of this series by David Eddings is another action-packed read, and it's definitely one to be impressed with. There are some new twists that'll keep you hooked once and then. I also think that as the novels progress, the plot deepens and there's more to the story than meets the eye. I would say that if you pay a bit more attention and think about everything in detail, you'd probably be able to predict the where the story is heading from the start. It's actually pretty interesting when it comes to Garion, though I do believe he is sometimes a bit slow. I mean, the Belgariad does revolve around his character, as well as that of the sorcerer Belgarath and his daughter Polgara. In this book the prophecy that reveals who Garion really is also predicts who he's meant to marry – and that person just happens to be travelling with them and the one we all expected: The imperial princess. And, as if things couldn't get any better here, there's a third prophecy for Garion to figure out after the betrothal. It says that if he's "the special one", he's got to take out Torak and risk his own life. The story ends with Garion heading off towards his destiny to die or kill the dark god, while his betrothed get all “cocky” (in my opinion) and raises an army to distract Toraks minions and allow Garion's safe passage. As always, it was a good book, but I didn't like that we have too many chapters about the princess, I would have loved to hear more about Garion's journey. Maybe it's because I don't like her at all
