It is, above all, a way of asserting power.”—The New YorkerIn 1984, London is a grim city in the totalitarian state of Oceania where Big Brother is always watching you and the Thought Police can practically read your mind. Such an amazing book to read.
i Like the writing and the plot, but i dont love it
Orwell is amazing This book is still so incredibly relevant. One can apply it not only on the USSR but also on today’s politics and learn much from it. It’s written simply, understandably and serves the purpose of helping the reader think critically. I absolutely can say, that if you should read one political book in your lifetime, it is this one.
Easy to read and follow along, pretty entertaining and too real if you look at the political landscape. It works for me and its a quick read. The upcoming live action movie adaptation (2025) gotta be a joke, right?
