The first Poirot novel. From the beginning the book is just leading us by the nose... From the very first it suggest that the murderer who killed the wealthy mistress of Styles Court is her new husband, and everybody suspects him to be the criminal. Then comes a little mislead, where during the investigation of Poirot we get the feeling, that mybe it was not the right instint, maybe somebody else comitted the crime, of whom we would not think. Maybe one of her children? Or maybe the little girl whom she proteged for a while? Actually in the end with so many little screws in the plot we arrive back to the most simplest solution... The real murdered is her ne fortune-hunting husband, with his aquintance, the lounge woman of the victim. It was a properly planed murder... but in the end Poirot investigated the true murderers. It is not the best Poirot novel, I was a little bit disappointed, the screws of the plot was little boring and not so surprising...
