Incredible! The story wasn't what I had expected (as is often the case with Ursula K. Le Guin) and the first chapter didn't seem promising, but it's worth sticking with it. I'm thinking of giving Always Coming Home another try, since I found it a really tough read, but after my experience with A Wizard of Earthsea, I think I should be more patient. It's important to reflect on one's reading habits when reading the author's early work.
