[Read by Anthony Wren] Deep in debt and haunted by memories of the past, Lord Milton chooses to abandon his title and become the manager of a hotel in Brighton called the Paradise Hotel. Then a mysterious young lady arrives and begs him to hide her from the man who hunts her. Cecilia's flight from her guardian leads her to the Paradise Hotel, where she meets John Milton. The hotel is her refuge from the man ruthlessly intent on marrying her for her fortune, and John is the only man who can help her. But just as John begins to realize that he would do anything to protect Cecilia, he discovers a terrible secret about her, and it seems as if a life together could be impossible.
