I did truly love the way this book was written in such a poetic and metaphorical way, and I really loved the atmosphere. I liked the way the reader is never sure whether it's psychosis, magic, or reality. I believed the question of the book is whether magic and ghosts exist and whether Felicity was in a psychosis or if she was experiencing reality, or even whether Alex is still alive or actually dead, and then learning that the actual question is if Ellis is a psychopathic murderer who's so deeply obsessed with her work and art that she'd even kill for it, blew my mind. I also really adored the unreliable narrator. You never knew what was happening, and it was amazing. The only thing I didn't like was that the end was plot twist after plot twist, kind of random and far off as well, and all of those significant plot twists were stuffed into the last five chapters. I'm personally a sucker for happy endings, which is why I was a little disappointed to find out, the love interests I've grown to love is a brutal murderer, but at the same time this might be the most genius part of the book. I also think that a lot of things and circumstances weren't fully explained or not at all. like the five murders, which was the most significant part of the book, just weren't fully explained. All in all: I did love the book and the whole atmosphere but the ending was too much, too fast and too twisted for my personal liking and a few things weren't explained enough.

Absoluter Fiebertraum eines Buchs. Ich liebe die Vermischung von Sapphic Romance und Dark Academia 🖤
