CRIME & MYSTERY. When scribbled notes written by Barry Grant, a troubled teenager who committed suicide thirteen years ago, come to light, DCI Paget, DS Tregalles and the rest of the team reopen the investigation into a series of robberies that ended with the vicious killing of two people. Just before the house where Barry grew up is due to be searched for clues, an attempt is made to burn it down, making it shockingly clear that someone is disturbed by the renewed interest in the case. Then a young woman comes forward with some vital information, but before that can be pursued, she is severely beaten and left for dead. With Superintendent Alcott sidelined on compassionate leave, Paget must rely on Tregalles and DC Molly Forsythe as the investigation comes to an explosive conclusion.
